A Morning of Purpose: St. Louis Business Leaders Unite for the Fight Against Alzheimer’s

This morning, the spirit of community and purpose was palpable as our team joined fellow St. Louis business leaders for a powerful Corporate Engagement Breakfast hosted by the St. Louis Walk to End Alzheimer’s 2025 Planning Team. The room was filled with values-driven professionals who understand that the impact of Alzheimer’s extends far beyond the individuals diagnosed — it reaches into workplaces, homes, and communities.

For us at Assistance Home Care, the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association is personal and deeply aligned with our work. Every day, we walk alongside families navigating the realities of dementia care. We’ve seen how Alzheimer’s changes lives — not just for the person living with the disease, but for the spouses, children, and friends who love and care for them.

This morning’s event wasn’t just about fundraising or corporate sponsorships. It was a reminder that today’s workforce is caring — quite literally. Millions of employees across the country are balancing full-time jobs while also caring for aging parents or loved ones living with dementia. And increasingly, employees are looking to their companies for support, resources, and understanding.

Our President & Co-Founder, Allen Serfas, who proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri Chapter, spoke to the importance of showing up — not just as employers, but as people. He emphasized the unique opportunity that businesses have to lead with compassion, share resources, and create a culture where employees feel seen and supported in every aspect of their lives.

At Assistance Home Care, we’ve seen firsthand how rallying around a cause like the Walk to End Alzheimer’s doesn’t just make a difference in the community — it strengthens our team from the inside out. For over a decade, we’ve been proud sponsors of the St. Louis Walk, and each year, we witness the incredible impact it has on our Care Professionals, office teams, and the families we serve. Supporting the Alzheimer’s Association isn’t just something we do — it’s part of who we are. It reminds our team that their daily work matters, connects us with a broader mission, and creates shared moments of purpose that unite us across departments and locations. When a company stands behind a cause that touches so many lives, it doesn’t just build brand alignment — it builds heart, connection, and long-term commitment. These moments of advocacy and action aren’t just good for the cause — they’re good for people. Cause marketing and mission alignment help boost employee morale, increase retention, and cultivate workplaces where team members feel proud to belong.

We are honored to be part of this important conversation within our local business community and grateful to those companies who continue to step up and show that care doesn’t stop at the office door.
